Backstory
In 1969 the Cuyahoga River caught fire near Cleveland, Ohio. After the river started to burn due to pollution people started to worry about it and eventually started to clean it up.. How the hell does this related to a website?

Well in 2001 Microsoft released the Xbox, Following the release of the Xbox came many communities and websites based around modification of the infamous black box. Still don't know what the hell I'm talking about? Without burning any bridges here.. I'm going to say this as nicely as possible.. Most of these sites are becoming a cesspool, a polluted mess filled with elitist's and people who don't give two fucks about the underdog, the end user. Burning-River wants to change that.. We aim to bring people back to our beloved community, to rebuild and clean up the cesspool. When I started off in my adventures in modding the "scene" was extremely helpful, now it's all about who has the best new thing, how much they have to sell it for, or how much you have to "donate" to get it.

We at Burning River believe in freedom of knowledge and we do not expect people to pay for something that would otherwise be free. If you're modding a console you shouldn't have to pay for home brew software, a diagram, a tutorial, the only thing you should/could have to pay for is hardware. Starting today I will be uploading tutorials diagrams and the essential software to the web-server, I will also be installing the proper community applications needed, Wiki, Forum, User Photo Gallery (Show off your stuff!) If anyone would like to donate there free time by being a mod on the forums or in the IRC channel, drop me a line via the Contact button. I could use the help.
